series of UNFORTUNATE events

Saturday was just great with the GB meeting, the shopping session Jo and I went with Li to get her slacks and her pair of shoes instead of a skirt and a pair of heels, and lastly the MGS 110th Anniversary Gala Dinner.

Everything was perfect until everything came tumbling down upon you.

I seriously wanna cry right now.

#1 : I woke up with a sorethroat on Sunday, and I went to church. It was Youth Sunday, and the MYF was having a choir presentation. And I was told to go join them to sing. Ended up with a super-sore throat.

#2 : I went out with dad to get stuff for my friends in KL and it was raining heavily but when we reached the shop, it was only drizzling, so I refused to take the umbrella..and what happened? My sinus is back, and I'm down with a flu.

#3 : Time for dinner at granny's. I went to my usual seat, which has a window behind me and I didn't realize the window was open, so, I juz walked in, and my waist got scratched by the window pane or whatever you call the metal thingy on the window. It was seriously painful that I nearly cried at the dining table, but I just held on to the pain and continued with dinner. I didn't see the scratch until I reached home. I thought it was juz a scratch and I wanted to put some cream and a plaster over it, but when I lifted my tee up, it was...quite serious. Some skin came out, and it was bleeding, plus another 2-3 deep scratches beside it. Ouch!!

#4 : The climax of the unfortunate events. Mom told me to help print some certs. And I did, but since I was sniffing, coughing and sneezing, plus the pain on my waist, I did a careless mistake. Later I've gotta turn Ipoh upside down to get the piece of paper, which has the exact pattern as the cert. This is seriously my fault and I just can't help it but to continue my search. No one can help me in this.

I really don't know what else can happen these few days..

I need hugs and comfort although I think I don't really deserve it due to the carelessness I've done.

Life is terrible these few days, and I don't know how long it'll be.

i HATE you!

Well, it is a very harsh phrase, which I seldom use.
In actual fact, I've barely used it, but everything has its first, right? :P

I've been on the roads of my dear little town since the 3rd day I touched home soil, and until today,

I really really hate you, local drivers!!

What do you want to prove?!

#1 : You get into the wrong lane and then, trying to squeeze back into the lane in order to get to the destination you want.
(Plan where you wanna go, and stick to it! You wanna show off your driving skills or perhaps your overtaking and squeezing skills, do it in your dreams!)

#2 : You turn into your right lane, which is MY left!
(Are you driving in the Western countries? You're at home, for goodness' sake! Stick to the left lane, YOUR left!! or else, get lost and go drive somewhere else)

#3 : You put your signals, indicating that you'll be turning, and you continue going straight!
(When you order a cup of coffee in a shop, do you expect them to give you a cup of tea instead?! Make up your minds!!!)

#4 : You honk for no reason!
(You think your honk sounds good??!)

#5 : You charge out when a car is nearing!
(If you've got a big car, it doesn't mean that you're the king on the roads, can't you wait? Didn't you know your facts on momentum??! When we honk, it doesn't mean that you've got permission to charge out!)

I don't think these people ever cared about anything else besides themselves. They can be perfect little angels when the police are around, but after that, you'll be seeing their horns and tails growing bigger and bigger, longer and longer!

2007-Visit Malaysia Year, and don't you think tourists will be freaked out when they drive on our roads?!

Many many many, and yet so many campaigns, posters, billboards, banners and the list goes on telling drivers to drive safely since the day I knew how to read, but there must be loads before...what effect have they?

People normally blame that 'P' drivers are the ones who cause all these, but have they actually looked upon themselves and evaluate the way they handle their machines on the roads? We, probationers only picked up and become more ganas in order to survive on the roads, but I believe that we obey the rules more than those monsters out there.

Cheers to all 'P' drivers!!

(Rotten eggs to all the monsters!)

Have you ever wondered what's the thing behind being a teacher's kid?

I know this is indeed a very random topic of discussion but, the fact is at times, I'm really grateful to have a teacher-mom, but at times, it's a very very painful fact. Many will say "Oh, your mom is a teacher, so, things are obviously easy for you..." or "Aiyah, you don't understand meh? Didn't your mom teach you before?" or when you DO understand a certain things by your own ability, "Your mom taught you?!"

Things like that really haunted my schooling days, especially you've got teachers who are close to your mom, or probably those she met in some courses somewhere and she told them she has daughters in MGS. The next time the teacher sees you, she'll ask about your mom, and behind you, I bet she's keeping an eye on all your behaviors etc. It is worse if your mom's friend becomes your subject teacher. (I'm really grateful not to have any of my mom's friends as my class teacher throughout my entire schooling life, or not, I think you can imagine it yourself) Well, my mom teaches Chemistry in her school and her friend was my Chemistry teacher, and currently my sister's as well. Frankly speaking, we do feel the pressure from both sides, mom at home and teacher in school. We can fail any subjects but, never science-related ones! *touches wood....*

The public always have this thinking that teachers are the best profession in the sense that they only need to work half a day, as in from 0730 to about 1400, which is quite short compared to corporate workers. Corporate people working in offices, bank, factories...they will be in their respective workplaces and when the clock strikes, they leave, but it's a total different thing for teachers! I don't know about other teachers but my mom never gets to leave school before 1430 daily, and mind you, that's the EARLIEST!! School ends at 1350 for her, and she has loads of activities in school, i.e extra classes for students who will be facing major exams, society meeting, staff meeting, and the list adds on. This is what she does IN school, which does not include the HUGE amount of paperwork, other tasks like bringing the students here and there for competitions...and trips! I've been fetching my mom to and from school these days, and at times, I've gotta wait for her for a certain period of time, a few times even past 4pm!

Imagine, she's in school from 7.05am till about 4pm! That's like 9+ hours being in school!

Sometimes even our holidays have to give way to her extra classes for those exam-bound students! Or the trips she organized to expose them to the world outside.

Many students out there are complaining their heads off about their teachers making them do this and that, but do you ever realize that the only thing they want from you is for you to be a successful person, nothing much. And if the school does not perform well in a certain subject, who will get the blame?! No one else, besides teachers.

To my mom's students out there, do appreciate a teacher like this, for I think this species is facing extinction pretty soon. Even I didn't get teachers like this in those 11 years I spent in school.
